The "bra" top was made of dark brown pleather, with plate
alumnium pieces krazy glued on top. There were also two straps, with gold
paper fastener studs, that criss-crossed in the back. This top laced up
on both sides with dark brown leather cording. The "corset"
piece was made of brown pleather which also had plate aluminum pieces
krazy glued on top of the upper half of the pleather. I attached grommets
on the sides, which the dark brown cording laced through (this is also
true for the belt and the"bra" top, except that the grommets
were attached on the plate alumininum itself). The belt was also made
of dark brown pleather, with gold paper fastener studs, and had plate
aluminum krazy glued on top. The three brown pleather pieces were "studded"
and had a small piece of plate aluminum krazy glued on. They were attached
to the belt by the gold paper fasteners. The sword hanger was made of
dark brown pleather that was comprised of two folded over pieces, which
were then sewed together and "studded" with the gold paper fasteners.
The "Roman sandal boots" were made of dark brown pleather, with
a leather outsole sewn on the bottom. The insoles were three layers of
cardboard, which was surprisingly comfortable to walk on! I sewed on the
other pieces of the shoe, added the grommets, gold paperfasteners, plate
aluminum, and laced them up with dark brown leather cording. The gauntlets
were made of plate aluminum and Velcro on both sides. I used a piece of
16 gauge glavanized steel wire to help roll the aluminum on the sides.
I made a "ring" to attach the cape by bending a piece of plate
aluminum into this shape (|). With all pieces of the plate aluminum, I
would attach the 16 gauge galvanized steel wire bended into various patterns
and grommets (when necessary) with aluminum metal tape. I would paint
the plate aluminum pieces with gold paint and sponge brown paint on top
to give it that "distressed gold" look. For the sword, I made
a cardboard base and attached the plate aluminum to it. I used the same
"wire" attachment" and "distressed gold" paint
techniques. For the skirt, I used an off-white muslin, sewed some red
bias tape near the edge of the skirt, and folded it into pleats. I then
painted the brown patterns, on the skirt, above the red bias tape. I then
sewed a red pleated piece of fabric to the top of the skirt. The skirt
was attached by velcro in the back. The "capri" pants were red
fabric with a dark brown pleather border at the bottom of the pant legs,
which laced up the side through the gold grommets with dark brown leather
cording. The cape was a piece of red fabric which had off-white muslin
sewn on top of it. It was folded in a "Romanesque" style and
attached through the cape "ring" (mentioned above).
